Manuel grew up in Colombia where he learned to appreciate natural light. As a kid, he loved to play with ViewMaster reels. Later, he graduated with honors from the MFA in Cinematography at New York Film Academy (Universal Studios), where he was mentored by Tony Richmond (ASC,BSC) and Jacek Laskus (ASC, PSC).

 

During his 10 years of filmmaking experience, he has shot 3 feature films, more than 30 short films, and dozens of music videos and national network commercials for clients including Jeep, Honey, Forever 21, Mario Hernández, Jhonnie Walker, Trident, Juan Valdéz Café, LAN Airlines, Dunlop and UNICEF. His work has taken him from Colombia to Argentina, Brasil, Ecuador, Panamá, Costa Rica and the USA.

He enjoys art exhibitions, playing tennis and trying food from around the world.
